Cost comparison between conventional wiring with point-to-point connections between the periphery and the control on the one side and solutions with AS-Interface on the other side shows that normally hardware cost will rise slightly, labour cost on the other side will be reduced significantly. Hardware cost comprise: switching cabinet, control including periphery, splitter boxes, cable trays, cabling and other material.
Labour cost includes: assembly, cabling, commissioning, trouble shooting.
