The AS-Interface flat cable
A fieldbus cable has to distribute data and energy. Due to the unique AS-Interface technology this can be accomplished with a simple two wire flat cable:

• Installation is without restrictions (tree, ring, line or star topology possible)
• With the AS-Interface cable no confectioning of trunc cables is necessary. The slaves are connected via a unique piercing technology
• No terminating impedances are required
• There is no additional work required to connect shields because there are none

For field installation (protecting rating IP65 or higher) the famous ‘yellow cable’ is available

For installation in switching cabinets (protection rating IP20) a low cost alternative will be available in the near future:
